New York by Day is an immersive cinematic experience by Optical Animal permanently installed at the Terminal B Atrium at LaGuardia Airport in New York, commissioned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and designing architects LCA and HOK.

Expansive portraits of everyday life, cinematic slices, and fleeting moments collectively capture and share a love for the daily spontaneous symphony that one experiences moving through New York City.

The experience is comprised of a 12K resolution 95’ wide curving LED wall, a series of 14 individual vertical LED panels, as well as 6 static image collages featuring NY landmarks, all playing in concert with one another.

We worked closely with project teams through every step of the process, from design and ideation through to procurement, installation, and commissioning.

The installation is open to the public and on view from 6am to midnight daily.
