New York by Day is an immersive film by Optical Animal permanently installed at the Terminal B Atrium at LaGuardia Airport in New York, commissioned by the Port Authority of NY&NJ and created in close collaboration with designing architects LCA and HOK.

From the early stages, Optical Animal worked with ownership, architects, manufacturers and builders through every step of the process, from design and ideation through to procurement, installation, and commissioning.

Expansive portraits of everyday life, cinematic slices, and fleeting moments capture a collective love for the daily spontaneous symphony that one experiences moving through New York City.

The experience is comprised of a 12K resolution 95’ wide curving LED wall, an array of 14 sequenced LED monoliths, and 5 static image collages featuring NY landmarks, all playing in concert with one another.

The installation is open to the public and on view from 6am to midnight daily.
